Some have asked why I have chosen a bird as my logo. My father is the reason. I wanted to honor my father using his bird. He would use this sweet bird to sign any cards, notes, or letters he would write to his daughters. My father was an Episcopal Priest and was also artistic. He was a concert pianist, drawer, and painter. But, his calling was the priesthood. I asked him many years ago to show me how to do the bird. The bird represents creativity, happiness, courage, and strength but mostly love to me. And that is what I want my artwork to convey to the world.

KICK
I am trying to figure out how to KICK it up with marketing and email campaigns. How do you effectively get YOURSELF out there? I am excited to receive my new business cards, logo, and some other marketing information. I am finding themes in my life and honestly throughout my entire young (lol) 56-year life. I have been influenced by many; themes are popping up. More for another day. But, like painting, when you throw paint onto a canvas at first it does not make sense, then as time goes on everything starts to meld together into a cohesive beautiful picture. That is what is happening on this journey...it is quite remarkable.
PEACE
It is Sunday, my husband is out of town, and I recently purchased new sheets. I have a sheet fetish. So, I decided to clean out my linens and figure out what I could do with them besides donating them. Obviously, I have saved some for drop clothes and I thought I could use pillowcases as packing material or to wrap paintings. Others that had monograms on them I decided I could cut the monogram off and make a quilt or something fun. Of course, while cleaning out the linen closet, I had new sheets that needed washed. Leaving me with new tools for painting......I am using the cap from the fabric softener as a spreading tool and the detergent bottle will be used as a paintbrush holder.
Finding PEACE in REPURPOSING.
Cheers!
BUBBLES
So I have not been in my studio in a week. WHY? I was busy setting up my website, had some real life issues and I threw my back out. This morning I found myself DOUBTING my creativity. So, I did what everyone says to do............GO IN THE STUDIO AND JUST PLAY. So I have been playing. Trying different things, framing some art that needed to be framed and playing with some new tools I purchased. It's really interesting when I try different tools and techniques. I purchased some Squeeze Bottles and I am loving them. I've used them with watercolors and inks. They are really nice and have a little lid so they won't spill. Also played with a paining that I was not happy with and just started painting over it....its now coming along better. I find once I start playing I tart thinking about wanting to do something this way, or I need to try that way.....so it really works. Just get back on the bike.....
-finding my inspiration again thru play.
