About the Artist

Born in Cambridge, England and raised in Chicago, Kate McClain has always been drawn to creativity, color, and beautiful spaces.

After studying at Ray Vogue College of Design, Kate spent years working in Interior Design, visual merchandising, and creating memorable environments. That lifelong love and composition, texture, color, and storytelling eventually found its way onto canvas.

Today, Kate is a contemporary  painter working primarily in acrylics. Her work is expressive and intuitive, often inspired by animals, landscapes, travel, memory and small moments that make her life feel beautiful. Loose brushwork, layered color, and a sense of warmth and personality are central to her paintings.

For Kate, painting is more than creating something beautiful. It is a way of processing life, capturing a feeling, and finding joy in the unexpected.

Her work reflects a life filled with change, resilience, curiosity, humor, and a willingness to keep beginning again.

Kate currently paints from her studio in South Carolina and continues to explore wherever art -and life - take her next.
